Hello all,

We've been suing autotune 4 for a few years now.  Primarily it is used on our macpro at church.  It's a dual core Intel Mac.  Now I want to put autotune on my laptop (also an intel mac).  I downloaded the program from the legacy software section and ran the installer.  When I get to the ilok authorization, I get an error.  Should I be worried abot that?  I already have this version authorized on my ilok for when I use it on the Mac Pro.

I'm using Pro Tools 8LE on both systems, but I cant get it to show up in my audiosuite on the laptop.  Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Will I need to upgrade?  I've already upgraded from Autune 3 to Autotune 4 in the past.  Am I still eligible to upgrade to the newest?

Hello Jon,

Depending on your laptop's specifications, something tells me that you will need to upgrade from Auto-Tune 4 to either Auto-Tune 7 or Auto-Tune EVO.  Auto-Tune 4 has been discontinued for quite some time.

Thanks Henrik.  I went into our ilok account to make sure I was doing the right software download and apparently I shoudl have been downloading Autotune 5.  Once I did that, I could get it to install, however, only as a trial.  I cannot get it to recognize the authorization on my ilok.  Any thoughts?

You will most likely have to update your "Client" software and "Driver" for your iLok USB Smartkey.  You will find these two installers here:

thank you henrik.  I'll give that  a shot.

Nope, that didnt work.  Its still telling me that I need to authorize my Autotune.. even though it has been authorized with my ilok key in the past and used on my desktop with nary a problem..

Is your iLok functioning properly.  I assume you have the blue/green iLok.  Does the little green light show up on the iLok?  When you log in to your iLok account, does iLok.com recognize that the iLok is connected?  If not, perhaps your iLok is broken.  You might also want to move it to a different USB port on your computer and try.

Henrik,

Thanks for your quick reply.  I'm away from the ilok at the moment, however, I can confirm that to the best of my knowledge it is functioning correctly.  I used it this morning on the desktop computer without problem.  The little light shows up an everything.  I'll try and switch out the USB port when I get back to it.  How would i know if ilok.com is seeing my ilok as "connected"?

Hello Jon,

When you sign in to your iLok account at www.ilok.com.  If your iLok USB Smartkey is connected to your computer, once signed in to your account, the account will show you if your iLok USB Smartkey is connected.
