I am trying out the demo of Autotune 7 on 32-bit Sonar X1 Producer Expanded. Basically, I like it - it does what I need and the audio quality sounds pretty good (when it is working). But I am getting very frequent dropouts and audio glitches (pops and other sound effects).
I have set the ASIO buffer and the read/write caches in Sonar to their maximum sizes. I have set the Autotune buffer to 4096 seconds, which should be good for over an hour of audio. The dpclat program shows no spikes or problems. I have a pretty powerful system, and the CPU monitor shows it running at only 5 or 6 percent capacity when the dropouts happen. I have removed or disabled as many other programs or gadgets as I can, but the dropouts and glitches continue.
Is there some setting or trick I am missing? Or does AT7 just not play well with Sonar X1?
I'm running 32-bit Sonar X1 Producer Expanded on 64-bit Win7, 6GB RAM, Intel Core i7 3.2 GHz, with a Gina3G interface.
I really would like to buy this software, but I don't think I can live with all the dropouts and glitches. I'm hoping someone can help me identify the problem and a fix before my trial period expires. Thanks for reading this.

Permalink Reply by Blogospherianman on December 20, 2011 at 7:29am I have the same problem with AT7 and X1....Antares has been NO help. I actually bought AT7 when it came out a year ago. Tech support didn't help at all. PLUS, NONE of Antares products are 64bit....
Permalink Reply by Herb Schroeder on December 20, 2011 at 9:45am Antares support techs responded quickly to my request for help and have offered a number of suggestions for dealing with this problem. I've been able to reduce the pops and glitches by adjusting AT-7's settings. Unfortunately, we have still not been able to find the cause of the dropouts, which are a major problem.
