First thing Antares should do is get rid of the iLok protection system. Sorry until it’s gone I will not be buying or using your software. I have to pay $125 for a piece of software and then another $60 to use it! Rather criminal!

I agree with a lot of what is said here including Max from Antares. Software piracy is a real problem however a system like iLok encourages it rather than being the solution. Hackers enjoy taken out the code and bypassing the iLok system. Yes, we don’t what individual licence keys that overwhelm our USB ports.  I can’t see why Antares can’t offer the eLicenser system as well as iLok. eLicenser seems to work very well.  I have products both Arturia and Waldorf products that work well with this system and the software version is free.

I still feel iLok is a 'TAX' on using your own legally purchased software!

The cost argument would be ok if all of us were spending $3000 on software.  I bought the $50 consumer grade software which means the copy protection actually cost me MORE money than the software itself.

iLok is a fallacy for many reasons, not the least of which is that it will create MORE piracy.

If you don't already have the dongle, it's an extra expense, for something that is providing you no protection.

The extra expense will simply drive more people to use the cracked versions.  As for me, I simply refuse to buy anything that requires a dongle.  I haven't used any Antares product in 10 years.  Apple has figured it out with their digital distribution; there's no copy protection whatsoever around their professional apps.

Pace is providing software developers the illusion of anti-piracy, while putting the burden on LEGITIMATE USERS to pay for the additional expense.

I totally agree that this valueless iLok system should be abandoned, and all of your marketing hype B.S. won't convince me otherwise.  It is of absolutely no value to the consumer, and only adds unnecessary cost.  Many, many software products are computer specific, like those from Adobe, Sony, Microsoft, Celemony, etc. and these are well protected without creating a money making opportunity for a parasite like iLok.com.  Adding a $60 cost to a $300 software package is adding an additional 20% to the product cost, in my opinion, that is of no value to me.  Antares products are beginning to see some really great competition from others, and the extra expense required by iLok makes the Antares products less comptetitive.

No more Antares products for me until you eliminate this ridicuous system.
