Recently, my husband got a Auto-Tune efx2. He barely uses the internet, let alone understands what's needed with this program. He was hoping this would be a plug and play program. Obviously not!
We have two types of computers : IMAC - dual-core Intel 10.5, and Dell AMD based computer with Windows 7.
What's the easiest and cheapest way to get this program working? Is Auto-Tune efx2 the program he actually needs. He isn't planning on recording or remixiing anything.

If you install the AU version, you should be able to use it in Garageband on your iMac. But since it is software, it requires that the vocals will either pass through the computer or be recorded into the computer.
If you are not planning on doing either, than look for our hardware versions, the AVP-1 or the TASCAM TA-1VP:
