Can someone explain exactly what the Synthesis Looper is in the Infinity software, perhaps by explaining first what - "...frequency domain sidelobe energy..." is?

When I create pad sounds for my sampler from scratch I often run across the problem of unevenness or choppiness in amplitude and timbre. Does this Synthesis Looper really smooth and straighten those thick rich pad sounds and if so how satisfactorily? And if this tool is truly efficient, is it available to OSX users through some other Antares software? And if Antares is not making this solution available for OSX users does anybody know who is?

Hello Dave,

Unfortunately, the "Infinity" is long out of production and there are no plans to make a version for MAC OS X.

Thanks Henrik,

I suspected this. But I was trying to understand what the Synthesis Looper did exactly. From its description I was led to believe that it could perform a function which it probably could not. Otherwise, my guess is that it would still be in production. It centers around this reference to "frequency domain sidelobe energy" which I have never heard of before. Have you?

I took it to mean something that might cause one to perceive inconsistency of amplitude and timbre in certain pads and that this Looper function solves that problem. If such is the case, this technology could hardly be considered obsolete. If Antares is no longer developing it, then someone else is - No?
