I bought the AVP for use in karaoke, had it about 2 weeks. I use the following mixer: https://www.alesis.com/imultimix8usb , and am a veritable rookie when it comes to mixing boards.
I am having the following problems:

(1) If I use an external preamp to go into the avp, then everything works, except I need an un-AVP'd signal for the monitor, so that doesn't work.

(2) I plugged into the AUX send/return, and it sounded as if I had a chorus effect, which i took to mean i had a blend of AVP'd and unAVP'd signals. I think it has something to do with the pre/post fader knobs, but I can't be sure.

(3) My next attempt will be as follows: AUX send to AVP to New Channel. Is this doable? Or am I just missing something on number 2?

(4) Even if I get number 1 or two to work, is there any way to send an un-effected mix to the monitors?

Love some help.

I know this is more of an Alesis problem than Antares, but I have yet to hear back from them.
Doesn't look like you'll be able to do what you're going for with this mixer in regards to monitoring the unaffected audio.

(2) is probably the best way to set this up if you're using the AVP. To get it to work without the chorus effect (what's really happening here is Doubling), turn your main volume fader down for the channel you're using and use the pre-fader knob as the volume. This should give you only the Auto-Tuned effect without doubling the unaffected audio on top of it.
I'll give that a try later. As for the monitoring, would that be a possibility with another mixer? If so, what would I need ?
You'll need a pre-fader send (which your mixer has) but you would also need a pre-fader output (aside from the one Aux/Send out that you have). If you have two Aux Sends on a mixer then you could essentially use one Aux Send to send audio to the AVP-1 (and bring it back on a new channel) while using the other Aux Send as a raw output going to your monitors. Either way would work.

I would suggest talking to someone at your local music store and getting a good idea of what is available. There are options for you but you just have to let them know your application as best as you can. Maybe even bring your AVP-1 with a mic and try out the options and see what works most comfortably for you.
Thanks a lot. You've been a great help.
Sounded much better tonight. Thanks bruva.
To get an "un-AVP'd" signal just use the Double Track feature on your AVP and send the Double Track Line Out to the monitors.

You'll want to set up as follows:

(a)Mic to mixer, make sure the fader knob on the mic line is all the way DOWN (this will get rid of that chorus effect) You'll also want to enable the HPF (High Pass Filter).
(b)Connect a 1/4" cable from the mixer's Auxiliary Out A to the AVP's Line In and then turn up the 'Aux Send A' on the mic's mixer channel.
(c)Turn on the Output module on the AVP and make sure Doube Tracking is set to Stereo.
(d)Connect a 1/4" cable from the Double Track output jack on the back of the AVP to your monitors.
(e)Connnect a 1/4" cable from the Main Track output jack on the back of your AVP to the Auxiliary Return A jack on the mixer and turn up the 'Aux Return A Level' knob.

Hope that helps.
