So, I am musically inclined but in no way a professional. I was hoping to create a basic vocal setup with the Auto Tune efx. However, it looks like I need to get Pro Tools and perhaps some other peripherals as well.
Could anyone be kind enough to explain the process to me? Specifically, I'm thinking of getting Pro Tools Vocal Studio (the $100 package that comes with a mic), downloading Auto Tune EFX from the Antares website, and try to stumble my way through with the above in singing some songs over preset loops and incorporating the Auto Tune.
I'm sure this plan is full of holes, as I have no idea if the Pro Tools I want to get is even compatible with Auto Tune. Also, I probably need peripherals I'm not even aware of, such as an iLok? I'm not even sure what that is, or if I have to buy it ahead of time.
In short, if anyone can offer some guidance, I'd really appreciate it.
